John Roman Baker, writer
John Roman Baker is a British poet, playwright and novelist who lives in Amsterdam. Through the 90s he was mainly known for his work in theatre as a playwright and director. His dramatic style was described as “Ibsen interpreted by Derek Jarman”. His literary style too is classical but hard-edged, with an unflinching descriptive eye and a heightened sense of reality and dialogue.
